My background

I've spent over two decades teaching in secondary schools, working with students across every ability level — from those who find the subject genuinely frightening to the highest achievers pushing for grade 9. I know the moments where students get stuck, the topics that cost marks unnecessarily, and the exam techniques that make the difference between a grade 4 and a grade 5.

That experience is baked into everything on this platform. The grade predictions use machine learning trained on years of real student data. The targeted revision papers are weighted by the marks available in each topic — so every minute your child spends revising is working as hard as possible.

Why I built Bow Tie Maths

When a major curriculum change left my A-level student Karishma with no past papers to practise on, her confidence collapsed from an A* down to a C in her mock exams.

To support her, I spent my lunchtimes hand-writing custom practice questions that targeted her exact gaps. It worked. Karishma got her A*, went to university, and is now completing her PhD.

But I couldn't sit at a lunch table hand-writing custom questions for every student who needed them. So I built Bow Tie Maths. Every question generator on the platform is the digital expansion of those hand-sketched questions. It is my 20+ years of exam-marking and custom-question writing, built to support your child around the clock, at their own pace.

How I work with students
