Year 11 · GCSE maths 2027 · Live on Zoom

A 3 in the mocks can be moved to a 4 with the right strategies.

If your child came home with a 3 in their mock, it's understandable to feel worried, because a 4 in maths opens the door to sixth form, college, jobs and apprenticeships. I have helped over 100 students in this exact position get over the line, and the Grade 4 Programme is sixteen live Tuesday evenings with me where we build the strategies that get them there.

What a place includes

  • 16 live sessions with me. One hour every Tuesday at 6pm on Zoom, from 26 January to 11 May, including through the February and Easter holidays, finishing three days before Paper 1.
  • A breakdown of their mock paper. Before we start I go through your child's mock and show you exactly where the missing marks are, so the plan is built around them.
  • Full access to the Bow Tie Maths app. Fresh exam-style questions on every topic, every attempt, with a weekly target of 70 questions and progress you can see from your own phone. Book early and it starts the day you book, right through to Paper 3 on 14 June.
  • The Thursday group after the programme. Once the programme finishes on 11 May, a place in my weekly Thursday group session right through to Paper 3 in June.

What parents say

★★★★★

Rob is a fantastic Maths tutor and he has certainly increased my son's confidence in Maths, as he approaches his November resits… Rob's teaching is engaging and teaches incredibly useful strategies not taught in school, including calculator techniques. This has boosted my son's understanding and helped him significantly with answering certain questions on the Maths papers.

★★★★★

My daughter is in year 11 and was really struggling with maths. Since starting her sessions with Rob her understanding of maths has improved and she is enjoying her maths class at school more. She has learnt new methods and feels more confident in herself and tackling new maths questions.
Sabrina, parent of a Year 11 student in my group sessions

★★★★★

Rob is an exceptional teacher, he breaks down the topics so it is easy to understand and top tips on calculator skills has been a game changer! … I just wished we had this support pre GCSEs, but we now feel very confident and prepared for the resits. My son's confidence has increased in just a short time working with Rob.
Tristan, parent of a GCSE resit student

★★★★★

Within a short few weeks of maths tutoring I have seen my daughter's confidence improve and she is also believing in herself, as she has seen improvements in her marks and says Rob explains things well so she understands it better. Wish I had signed her up sooner.

Who it's for

Year 11 students sitting GCSE maths in summer 2027, on any exam board, Foundation or Higher, who are working at a grade 3, or a 4 that doesn't yet feel safe, in their recent mocks. Most of all it is for students who are ready to show up every week and put in the practice in between.

Who it is not for

If your child is already comfortably above a 4 and aiming higher, my Thursday group is likely to be a better fit, with its weekly routine right through to the summer.

Book your child's place

Know which email your child uses for Bow Tie Maths? (optional)

I will ask about their exam board, tier and mock paper once you have booked.

The Grade 4 Guarantee

If your child does everything the programme asks of them and still doesn't get a grade 4 or above in their summer GCSE maths, I will refund the full amount you paid. Students who put the work in deserve that certainty, and it keeps me working just as hard as they are. The four things it asks are that your child:

  • Attends the 16 live sessions
  • Hits the weekly practice target on the app every week (70 questions)
  • Has the CASIO FX 991 CW+ calculator ready for every session
  • Sits all three GCSE maths papers in summer 2027

Claims are made within 14 days of GCSE results day, with a copy of the results slip.

What your child will need

The CASIO FX 991 CW+ calculator, if they have not got one already. The first two weeks are built around what this particular calculator can do, and knowing it properly is worth marks on its own.
